Partial Hospitalization & Intensive Outpatient Care For Adolescents
Centennial Peaks Hospital offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and two Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for adolescents ages 13 to 17 who need mental health or substance use treatment but do not require 24-hour care. Our outpatient programs allow teens to work and live at home while developing life skills to empower them to take control of their lives. We determine the needs of each patient through a complimentary, confidential assessment, but typical treatment plans consist of up to 20 sessions. Most patients will attend group therapy three times per week, for a total of 9 hours. Afternoon and evening tracks are available for families who need the flexibility.

Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
The adolescent PHP is designed to support adolescents following an acute behavioral health hospitalization or to prevent an acute hospitalization. The PHP offers a supportive, therapeutic environment for teens with mental health needs who require more support than the intensive outpatient level of care. The PHP provides five hours of therapeutic care, 5 days per week.
The program’s content includes foundational skills for emotion regulation, coping skills to manage upsetting emotions and impulsive behaviors, communication skills to identify and meet emotional needs and more. Medication management services are available to support the recovery process. Lunch is served daily.
On Fridays, family members are encouraged to attend our multifamily therapy group and education/support sessions. Throughout the program, parents have one-on-one access to a therapist to receive support, guidance and coaching.
Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to support teens with mental health challenges that are impacting their ability to thrive in school, at home and in relationships. The IOP is focused on the development of coping skills for upsetting emotions, interpersonal skills, relaxation skills, symptom management and mood stabilization.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based treatment methods make up a goal-directed treatment plan to help improve functioning at home and school. Through connection, group discussion, education and therapeutic exercises, a wide-variety of skills are learned and practiced to help teens better navigate daily stressors and improve their ability to more fully enjoy family life, school, work and play.
The adolescent IOP meets three times per week for a total of 9 hours of therapy. Typical treatment plans consist of 18 sessions over the course of 6 weeks. Parents have one-on-one access to a therapist for support, guidance and coaching.
