In-Hospital School Program
School is considered a part of the
adolescent residential treatment plan at Centennial Peaks. Attendance and
participation in the school program are mandatory. The school focuses on the
core subjects of math, reading, science and social studies. Art and Life Skills
are electives for the patients. The standards for the Colorado Department of
Education and the Boulder Valley School District drive the curriculum.
Accommodations are made for students with Individual Education Plans.
Information regarding attendance, participation and grades in our school are
provided to referral sources for the patient’s final discharge summary. The
school also offers GED preparation and completion with individual tutoring. If
the patient is interested in vocational training, arrangements can be made with
the local community colleges when the patient leaves the program.
