Levels
of Care
The
Acute Inpatient
program treats adults while they stay in the
hospital.
We provide an intensive
therapeutic structure with medical and psychiatric
stabilization and 24-hour nursing care for patients
experiencing critical symptoms.
Symptoms include suicidal
ideation, homicidal ideation and psychosis.
Our
Partial
Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a step-down program
for clients who have completed inpatient treatment at
CPH.
It provides structured
programming while allowing the patient to return home in
the evening.
Direct admission to PHP is per
doctor approval.
TREATMENT COMPONENTS
-
Treatment is led by a psychiatrist and administered
by a multi‑disciplinary team of mental health
professionals including nurses, social workers,
activity therapists, program specialists, substance
abuse counselors, and case managers.
-
Treatment begins with a comprehensive psychiatric
evaluation to identify
any underlying medical or biochemical origins of
disease.
Other assessments may be conducted as needed to
gather appropriate information.
An individualized plan of care is written to
specifically address each patient's special needs.
Therapeutic components may include group therapy,
family meetings, recreational and activity therapy
and medication education.
-
Active involvement of support persons in treatment
is a critical component as the patient's recovery is
often correlated to a positive support system.
Therefore, the treatment plan focuses on
attainable short-term and long‑term goals
established with input from the patient's family and
referring professional if appropriate.
-
Because
psychiatric problems may be complicated by a
co‑existing substance abuse problem, specialized
treatment is available for adults with
dual-diagnosis issues.
