Levels
of Care
Acute Inpatient
This program treats 18+ year-old individuals in an
intensive, therapeutic structure, providing psychiatric
stabilization and 24-hour nursing care for patients
experiencing critical symptoms. Critical symptoms
include suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation and/or
psychotic features. Another critical symptom is being
considered “gravely disabled,” which means an individual
is unable to care for themselves, putting their life or
others in danger.
This program will also treat individuals age 65 and
older if they are able to manage their activities of
daily living (ADLs), are medically stable and can
benefit from groups and therapy offered at Centennial
Peaks Hospital.
Partial Hospitalization
Program (PHP)
The PHP provides the structured programming of our
mental health inpatient program while allowing the
patient to return home in the evening. Most often, this
is a step-down program for clients who have completed
inpatient treatment at Centennial Peaks.
