Adult Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program
(CD-IOP)
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Adult CD-IOP assists patients in beginning a life of

in this program gain knowledge about addiction and
recovery from a physical, psychological and habitual
perspective.

group-based program include:
- Relapse Prevention
- Sobriety Planning
- Stages of Change
- Trauma
- Cravings
- Healthy Relationships
- Stress Management
- Recovery Support System
Development
While all treatment is in a
group setting, individual treatment plans are developed
with the Group Facilitator. Group Facilitators are
professionals who are experienced in both chemical
dependency and mental health issues.
Goals of treatment include:
- Interrupting the
drug/alcohol use cycle
- Identifying and changing
negative behavioral patterns
- Establishing communication
patterns to improve relationships
- Identifying and
encouraging lifestyle changes necessary to support
on-going recovery
- Identifying signals of
relapse triggers
The IOP meets three times per
week, for three hours each session, for a total of eight
weeks (24 sessions). There are two tracks available and
individuals are able to start on any program day. The
day program meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from
9:30am – 12:30pm. The evening program meets Monday,
Thursday, and Friday from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Aftercare is
provided once per week for one year after members
complete the IOP.
PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY
We believe that addiction is a brain disease which can
be treated and recognize that many of those struggling
with an addiction also have a co-occurring disorder (an
addiction in addition to a mental health issue such as
depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder). Our program is
based on the understanding that the use of mood-altering
substances manifests itself in physical, psychological,
social and occupational functioning which not only
affect the person using the chemical, but also family,
friends and others in their social and work circle. We
address each of these areas of functioning in order to
build a strong foundation for recovery.
The Adult CD-IOP utilizes a
Family Systems Model, which strongly encourages weekly
family/support system participation. Emphasis is placed
on family involvement while the adult is in the program.
